Care For The Ghettos (CFG) recognizes that young people in underserved
ghetto communities face unique challenges as they transition into adulthood.
Through our skills development program in Uganda, we invest in vocational
training and life skills education that equips them with practical,
market-relevant skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and long-term success.
Our training covers a variety of fields, including tailoring,
carpentry, mechanics,
agriculture, and creative arts. In addition to technical
training, we place strong emphasis on developing essential life
skills such as effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork,
leadership, and financial literacy.
By combining vocational expertise with personal development,
we empower young people to secure meaningful employment, establish their
own businesses, and achieve economic independence. This connects directly
with our job creation program, which supports
beneficiaries with pathways to work and income generation. This holistic approach
not only transforms individual lives but also contributes to stronger
families, more resilient communities, and sustainable community development.
Our Woodworking and Carpentry program equips participants with practical skills
in designing, constructing, repairing, and installing wooden
structures and furniture. Trainees receive hands-on experience
in the safe use of woodworking tools and equipment while learning
techniques such as measuring, cutting, joining, finishing, and
furniture assembly
Beyond technical skills, participants are introduced to project
planning, customer service, and basic business management,
enabling them to pursue employment in the construction industry
or establish their own carpentry workshops. Through this program,
we empower individuals to build sustainable livelihoods while
contributing to the growing demand for quality wood products
and construction services within their communities.
The Metalworking program provides practical training in the fabrication,
assembly, and repair of metal products used in homes, businesses, and
construction projects. Participants learn essential skills such as welding,
metal cutting, grinding, shaping, and the safe operation
of metalworking equipment.
Our training emphasizes quality workmanship, workplace safety,
and precision while preparing beneficiaries for careers in
fabrication, engineering support, and construction. Individuals are equipped
to secure employment or establish small-scale metal fabrication businesses
that create income and serve the needs of their communities.
Our Tailoring program empowers participants with practical skills in garment design,
pattern drafting, fabric cutting, sewing, fitting, and clothing alteration.
Trainees work with modern sewing equipment and learn how to produce quality
garments for individuals, schools, businesses, and local markets.
In addition to technical training, participants receive guidance in
entrepreneurship, customer relations, pricing, and small business management.
This enables graduates to establish tailoring businesses, secure employment in
the fashion industry, or provide tailoring services within their
communities. Through this program, we help individuals develop
sustainable careers while promoting creativity, self-reliance,
and economic empowerment
